HOUSTON – Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has traded center David Andersen to the Toronto Raptors along with cash considerations in exchange for a future second round pick.
Andersen (6-11, 245, Australia) posted averages of 5.8 points and 3.3 rebounds while playing in 63 games (no starts) with the Rockets last season. He reached double figures in scoring 12 times last season, including a career-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds at the Los Angeles Lakers on 11/15/09. The Frankston, Australia native missed 14 games (inactive list from 3/9; 3/24-4/14) due to a sore lower back, did not dress for three contests (3/6, 3/7 and 3/22) and did not play (coaches decision) in two other games during his lone campaign with Houston. Originally drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round (37th overall) of the 2002 NBA Draft, Andersen had his rights acquired by the Rockets on July 14, 2009.
