Cypress Creek High School junior Caitlyn Rasmussen is one of six cheerleaders nationally nominated for American Cheerleader magazine’s 2009 Cheerleader of the Year.

Rasmussen was automatically nominated as a result of being named Cheerleader of the Month in the February 2009 edition of the magazine.

Rasmussen, 16, is co-captain of Cypress Creek’s varsity cheer squad. She is a member of National Honor Society and a Level 5 All-Star cheerleader for the Texas Lonestar Cheer Company. She also coaches two teams at Texas Lonestar, a team of 3- to 5-year-olds and a team of special needs children.

The Cheerleader of the Year competition is decided by popular vote. To vote for Rasmussen, go to www.americancheerleader.com and access the “Vote” button at the left side of the page.
