The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to help celebrate the town�s German heritage and Texas hospitality during Night In Old Fredericksburg, coming July 16 & 17, to Marktplatz in downtown Fredericksburg, Texas. This year will mark the festival�s 47th Anniversary!

Night In Old Fredericksburg is actually two nights and two days, showcasing the history, culture, food, and fun of this charming Hill Country community. Organizers have put together a weekend event guaranteed to stimulate all the senses and to delight folks of all ages. Revelers can listen and dance to nine different bands playing polka, show tunes, and country from the comfort of two covered stages. Acts include the world-famous Sauerkrauts, plus the popular Seven Dutchmen, Jodie Mikula Orchestra, the Dujka Brothers, the Shiner Hobo Band, Fabulous Six, Mark Halata & Texavia and the Red Ravens, as well as Almost Patsy Cline.

Night In Old Fredericksburg serves up a multicultural menu of tasty food and refreshing drinks. German favorites include sauerkraut and wurst served sizzling from the grill. Fans of Mexican food can sink their teeth into fajitas and tacos, and hungry visitors will find enthusiastic cooks serving up delicious burgers, fries, turkey legs, and other festival favorites.

New Hill Country Wine & Music Festival to kick off May 15 in Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG, TX - Experience the rich, aromatic flavors of Texas as you enjoy live music during the first annual Hill Country Wine & Music (HCWM) Festival Saturday, May 15, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds in Fredericksburg. Tickets are $25 when purchased in advance at www.hillcountrywineandmusic.com and $30 at the gate on the day of the festival. (Active military: $20.) Money raised from this event will go in part toward the establishment of the Texas Center for Wine and Culinary Arts in Fredericksburg.

Featured at the HCWM Festival are Texas wineries providing samples of some of their best vintages. Hill Country area restaurants, including Cabernet Grill Texas Wine Country Restaurant, August E�s and Rose Hill Manor, will conduct cooking demonstrations utilizing some foods provided by the Texas Department of Agriculture�s GO TEXAN program; which promotes the use of locally grown and raised products.

First Annual Hill Country Film Festival Kicks Off in Fredericksburg, TX with a Screening of �The Inheritance of War� film and more�

The Hill Country Film Festival kicks off its inaugural three-day celebration of independent film and filmmakers, Thursday, April 22 � Saturday, April 24, 2010 in Fredericksburg, Texas � the heart of the Texas Hill Country.

The Hill Country Film Festival (HCFF) blends unique artistic culture of the hill country with the independent film world, hosting three days of feature and short independent films, parties and gatherings. Over 25 short and feature films from all over the world will be showcased during the festival.

A highlight of the festival is the screening of the documentary �The Inheritance of War,� a relatively unknown story of personal accounts of WWII Veterans and Bataan Death March survivors. �The Inheritance of War� producer and narrator James Parkinson dedicated his life to telling this story and is a powerful example of the passion and determination the independent film world thrives upon.

The movie is a story close to the heart of Fredericksburg�s own historic Nimitz Museum and a perfect catalyst to bring together the culture of the hill country with that of the independent film world. Much like the story of the WWII Veterans in �The Inheritance of War,� there are so many stories that have the potential to touch so many people, yet they remain untold if not for the perseverance of a few.

8th Annual Windows on Texas Music Festival Starts January 14 in Fredericksburg

National Museum of the Pacific War Fredericksburg, Texas

WHAT: Grand Opening of the George H.W. Bush Gallery of The National Museum of the Pacific War a $15.3 million, 33,000 sq. ft. expansion project of the Admiral Nimitz Foundation and The Texas Historical Commission

WHEN: Monday, December 7, 2009 (Pearl Harbor Day) at 9:30 a.m.

WHO: President George H.W. Bush, Governor Rick Perry, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, and General James T. Conway, USMC, Marine Corps Commandant, will be honored guests at the grand opening. Events begin at 9:30 a.m. with a precision parachute jump by the Golden Knights, the U.S. Army Parachute Team. The conclusion of the ceremony at approximately 11:00 a.m. will be marked by a flyover of approximately a dozen World War II aircraft and a performance of the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps.

WHY: The grand opening of this world class museum coincides with one of the key dates in American history --- December 7, 1941 --- �a date which will live in infamy.�

Fredericksburg Introduces St. Nikolaus Markt Holiday Festival December 4-5

FREDERICKSBURG, TX --- With the holidays approaching, the City of Fredericksburg has announced its newest holiday event, the St. Nikolaus Markt � a fun-filled festival highlighting this city�s German heritage with plenty of Gemütlichkeit, German treats, music, and beer! Held the first Friday and Saturday in December at the Fredericksburg Marktplatz, the event kicks off the holiday season in grand style while introducing visitors to the City�s vibrant array of new holiday decorations, including the 26-foot Christmas Pyramid.

Built in Germany to Fredericksburg�s specifications, the 5-tiered, wooden Christmas Pyramid rises twentysix feet with each tier decorated with a different theme. Tier one depicts the nativity scene; tier two, carolers; tier three, nutcrackers; tier four, Santas, and tier five, angels. The rotating pyramid will also be decorated with lighted candles for a beautiful display. Skilled craftsmen in Erzgebirge, Germany manufacture these internationally collected Christmas pyramids, which in their smaller, table-top forms, are staples for most German holiday decorations.

Fredericksburg is currently the only municipality in the United States to have an outdoor pyramid of this grand scale � 26-feet.

Plans are underway for our 19th Annual Fredericksburg Food and Wine Fest, Saturday, October 24, 2009. The Fredericksburg Food and Wine Fest features the best of Texas wines, food, and entertainment. Over seventy exhibitors vie for attention from discriminating gourmets and oenophiles.

We will feature over 50 Texas Specialty booths showcasing, sampling and selling candies to olive oil, spices, jams, beef, lamb, herbs, jams, jellies, rubs, salsas, as well as other gift items such as Texas lavender and soap products. Plus we expect over 25 Texas wineries. This will give our guests an opportunity to sample over 100 varieties of Texas wine.
